Rakshabandhan is a festival of love between brothers and sisters. The meaning of Raksha Bandhan is to tie a thread for protection. It builds up and strengthens the bond between a brother and a sister. Brothers take an oath to protect their sister in any situation till their last breath and the sisters too pray for the well-being and prosperity of their brothers.
Naval KG Mankhurd celebrated Rakshabandhan festival online on 20th August 2021. Children were taught to make Rakhis using natural biodegradable materials available at home. They were then encouraged to tie these Rakhis to their siblings, cousins or to whomever they felt like will take care of them. This year students were also encouraged to tie Rakhis for health workers staying in their vicinity as the health workers are protecting us from Corona Virus. It is noteworthy to mention that students of UKG A tied Rakhis for plants also as the teacher taught them that the plants give us oxygen and protect us from the harmful rays of the sun.
