On 13 Jan 21, children were made familiar with the secondary colour purple. Students were asked to dress up in purple coloured clothes to help in building up enthusiasm as well as generate interest in them. This also helped them to relate to what was being taught in class.

Students were shown pictures and models of purple objects like plate, bottle, toys, books as well as everyday articles that are purple in colour like brinjal, purple cabbage, purple grapes, purple flowers. To emphasize the concept and to make it more intriguing, children were told about the colour via a story. They also coloured some pictures in their activity book and recited rhymes based on the colour purple along with the teacher.

Finally, they were encouraged to look for purple objects in their house and show these to everyone else in class. This was to ensure that the students had understood the topic and were able to recognize the colour. The children thoroughly enjoyed the activity.
