Who doesn’t like potatoes? They are a great favourite of children. As part of the “No Fire Kitchen Corner activity”, in the month of October, Naval KG School Mankhurd conducted the Potato peeling activity. Students were first taught how to peel boiled potatoes. They then cut the potatoes into cubes using plastic knives. The students loved sprinkling salt and pepper/chat masala over them and enjoyed eating their potato salad. The activity turned out to be more interesting when students started to put their skills in maths to use and started counting the potato cubes. They took pride in presenting their self-made scrumptious potato cubes with their parents and their siblings.

This activity helped the students to develop the following skills –

  1. Develop good hand-eye coordination.
  2. Develop good finger grip and control.
  3. Develop a better understanding of senses like touch, taste and smell.
