PINK DAY CELEBRATION 24 Sept 2019
Pink represents friendship, affection, harmony, inner peace, and approachability. Pink is often seen as the sweet side of red colour. It is also associated with flowers, babies, cotton candies and sweetness.
Preparation for the Pink Day was taken few days in advance. Different pink coloured objects were kept at different places in the school, which the children were supposed to take a note of and identify. Teacher also decorated the assembly area with different pink coloured objects. A story of a pink tiger cub was planned on the day, so prints of little tiger paws were pasted on the floor from the school gate, going up to the assembly area. Children were asked to follow the paw prints to make them curious.
As a part of pink day preparation, all students were also requested to come to school wearing pink dresses.
On Pink day Teacher started the assembly with a story of a Tiger Cub – “Bingo” who went to visit another forest with his parents. While playing there, he fell down in a puddle full of pink strawberries. When he came out, he turned into a Pink Tiger Cub. All his friends started calling him “Pinku..pinku”. He was very upset. Even his parents couldn’t identify him.
Bingo, the tiger cub was very upset. He sat under a tall tree and started weeping. All of a sudden, it started raining and his pink colour got washed away. Papa and Mama Tiger were also able to identify him and were very happy to have him back.
Some of the students wearing different shades of pink were asked to come on stage and different tints and shades of pink were discussed.
Next, teacher organized a small quiz where she asked students to look around and point at different pink objects. All participated enthusiastically. The session concluded with a poem on pink colour.
