Personal Hygiene is a major part of our everyday life. Basic hygienic behaviour is more effective if it is inculcated from childhood.

To make this topic simple for kids, teacher performed a skit with LKG – B students. A scene from the garden was enacted where after playing football the kids decides to have food from roadside stall. This act of not washing his hands after playing, and eating food from outside has led to stomach pain. When taken to the doctor, the doctor explains how the dirt in his nail and food kept in unhygienic condition was the reason behind his problem. The doctor asked the child to take care of his personal hygiene.

The child goes back and asks his friends, What is personal hygiene? His friends then explain him through a song “Here we go round the mulberry bush” with props like toothbrush, bucket, mug, towel, comb etc and showed him each task by doing actions.

Thus through simple skit and song, children learnt basic steps towards personal hygiene.
