Makar Sankranti Celebration
Students of Naval KG School, Mankhurd celebrated Makar Sankranti festival virtually on 14th January, 2021. A week prior to the celebration, teachers had informed the parents to dress – up their kids in respective State costume.
On the day of festival teacher as well as children dressed up colourfully and the virtual class also was decorated with the kites, sun etc…
Teachers explained to the students that from the day of Sankranti days will be long and nights will be short. Sankranti is also known as Harvest festival. Various States of India celebrate this festival in various name like Pongal, Lohri etc. Teachers also narrated about the special sweet made during this festival and also about the kite flying event which is normally associated with this festival. The children also participated in a kite making activity under the guidance of their teachers.
