Janmashtami is celebrated with all fervour and heightened spirits throughout the country. It marks the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna. As a part of Janmashatami celebrations Nursery children came to school dressed up as Krishna, Gopikas, and Radha. Janmashtami related chart was displayed and assembly venue was decorated with Dahi Handi. Teacher narrated the story of naughty Krishna and his favourite food butter. A small skit was enacted by children as depicting the lovely relation of shri Krishna and his mother Yashodha. Children danced to the song “Maiyya Yashodha Thera Kannaya…” .A pot of butter was kept where all naughty Krishnas took a taste of it. Celebration was brought to an end by symbolic breaking of Dahi Handi by children to the tunes of “Aala Re Aala Govinda Aala”. It was indeed an eye catching moment to see the tiny tots of nursery match steps to the song. LKG & UKG children were given paper crown as a take home.
