Healthy eating and physical activity is a habit that takes time and efforts. Introducing children to this concept will help them easily adapt to these habits and make them part of everyday routine. The concept was introduced through story telling in the assembly followed by an interactive session.

Teacher used paper standees, an entirely new form of storytelling to convey the concept. Importance of rising early, outdoor play with peers, being punctual to school, eating healthy food, use of golden words (please, sorry and thank you), listening to elders, ill effects of watching TV for a long time, after effect of telling lies, and respecting others who differ – different cultures or different habits were the salient points covered through the story. The story and set up was so mesmerising that all important concepts were easily conveyed to the children.

After the story telling session, interactive session with children was held and a catchy theme song on “Good Habits are like flowers” was introduced.
“Good habits are like flowers,
It has some magical powers..
Please, sorry and thanks..
Like money in the bank..
Use them and see..
How good you can be…”
