Earth day was celebrated on 20th April ,  This concept was introduced to children through different charts. The science behind seasons and climate was explained  by using globe. Children were informed that it is our duty to save our mother earth and this can be done by four simple steps –

  1. Save water – by turning off the tap when we are not using water, use of bucket and mug for bathing etc
  2. Save electricity – whenever they leave their classroom or room one should switch off the light and fan.
  3. Grow more trees- Children shared that trees give us several things fruits, flower, paper , medicine etc and are also the main source of oxygen. So for better future we should plant more trees in our surrounding. Teacher suggested gifting plants to our friends and relatives on their birthdays.
  4. Don’t litter here and there – emphasis on importance of clean environment and surrounding was shared with children and they were asked to ensure cleanliness everywhere; at school, home and even the neighbourhood where they stay.

At last teacher said that “one small steps for big chances” which means by taking   small precautions  we can protect our mother earth and keep it safe for our future generation.
