The festival of lights – Diwali, was virtually celebrated by children of Naval KG school, Mankhurd on 3rd November, 2021. The mythological story of Diwali was explained by the teachers to the children using finger puppets of Lord Rama, Sita, Laxman, Hanuman and Ravana. A video presentation of the same was also done for the children. As part of celebration children were made aware that their surrounding and houses have to be cleaned and decorated and sweets are to be made and shared with relatives and friends. Teacher also explained that lightning of Diyas symbolizes removing darkness from our lives and bringing peace and happiness. Diwali songs were sung in the class and children of various classes performed various activities like Diya painting, preparing healthy dry fruit laddus as a cooking without fire activity, making beautiful paper wall hanging etc.
