Students of Naval KG, Mankhurd celebrated GudiPadwavirtually on 12th April 2021. This festival is considered as the new beginning, new harvest and new year by people of Maharashtra.Teachers decorated Gudi and explained the significance of each item on the ‘’Gudi’’ – the copper upturned pot or ‘’kalash’’ symbolize success, the neem leaves purify the air, flower and mango leaves garland denote sacredness, the silk zari saree symbolize prosperity and the bamboo stick symbolize strength. Students were also explained about the special sweets made on this day – the PuranPoli and ShrikhadPuri. As part of festival celebration, the teachers requested the parents to provide their children these sweets. All students enjoyed the sweets and the celebration.
