NKG School Mankhurd celebrated Guru Nanak Jayanti on 12th November with devotion and love. The school assembly area was set up as a Gurudwara. At the outset, students were informed that Guru Nanak ji was the founder of the Khalsa Path also popularly known as Sihkism and his birthday is celebrated as Guru Nanak Jayati also known as Guru Purab. Students of LKG D entered the stage as followers of Sikh Pant, undertaking all activities. Teacher explained the importance and meaning of various important traditions including the covering of head by all devotees whilst entering a Gurudwara and five ‘Ks’ of the faith. Students enacted the early phase of life of Guru Nanak Dev ji showing the impact of Good Company on Human Life.
The prayer, EK Omkar was sung by the students and all present were mesmerised by the leap of faith of little ones transforming the assembly area into a Gurudwara during the enactment. The activity culminated with the distribution of “KADA Prasad” made by parents and teacher to all present in the school.
